Life took over and therefore, times to go on Dubai dreamin' have been paused. Now, let's continue my travelogue from where we left off: first official day in Dubai and we're going on an adventure to see one of the most gorgeous hotels in the world. Gondolas floating through emerald-hued waterways, palm trees, 23 deg weather... am I in heaven yet? Nope, I'm just in Madinat Jumeirah.

This place is so beautiful, it's almost unreal. A pity the sun was nearly blinding that day, so it was best we sneak a brunch indoors while waiting for the sun rays angle away.
Modern and traditional architecture juxtapose against one another here, each of them wonderfully polished in their own way. It is tough not to feel prim and dainty while walking through the corridors here, until we reached the Belgian Beer Cafe where everyone was out in the balcony having some amazing brunch.
The indoor decor is quite opulent, but the balcony was bright and inviting, so we opt for the latter where everyone were. Great minds think alike!
Never too early for drinks, especially some delicious cherry beer. Undoubtedly before I tried it I was skeptical, but all thoughts dissipate upon the first sip. Life's good.
Still the best Mussels ever, by a thousand and one miles from the runner-up. These are so fresh, they tasted like they were just harvested, each of them juicy, plump and sweet! I could not bear to finish them, politely restricting myself and then reaching out for one after another disregarding table manners. They come in three different sauces, one of which is the Thai curry which cooked with Thai green curry, lemon grass, galangal and lemon leaves. This is also my favourite. The other one was Provençale, cooked with white wine, garlic tomatoes, onion, and parsley.
We also had some of these tender port wine braised beef cheeks. The stew was really thick and flavourful, with chunks of tender beef cheeks... almost melt-in-the-mouth. Almost, but really good enough for me.
This Dijon herb honey marinated pork ribeye steak was just perfect. The caramelized sweetness coats the entire slab of pork ribeye steak brilliantly and every bite is just heavenly. The only problem is that it's not enough. I will never get enough of this.
A perfect, hearty Belgian brunch at Madinat Jumeirah that I don't mind relieving over and over again. 100% would recommend this place for brunch if you'd like to have a delightful time out at Madinat Jumeirah.
