Whisky House is classy and a perfect place for an evening of cocktails and whiskys. A fantastic place to chill with an impressive 300 over whisky and cocktails selections in this opulent restaurant that's just out to impress. The owner is serious about his alcohol with a heart for service, and if you're lucky and on a day that is less busy, friendship. At Whisky House, if you're looking to just hang out with your best buds, they have a live band going on some evenings for cool beats. Or on days with important games, there are huge screens for you to catch your favourite games in HD live. Find out why Whisky House is the best nightlife spot in JB:
If I were to pick my poison, it has got to be whisky. Once you go whisky, you just can't go back. I used to like vodka a lot when I was first acquainted with alcohol, then my taste got more 'refined' (goodbye clubbing, binge-drinking days). What's more, it is my muse and my favourite alcohol companion, always. So if you are just like me, or you can understand me, my fellow whisky-lover, this place is heaven on earth. Give me a high five! ;)
For one, I definitely recommend their Whisky Flights:
For the uninitiated, Whisky Flights are whisky tastings. You get to sample small amounts of whisky pours of your choice so that you can get acquainted with the different tastes, or if you just want to enjoy the different aromas! It is an entire subject in itself to know all about whiskies, from its aroma, body, aftertaste, and more. You can ask all the questions you want to learn more, the folks here would love to spread the word and knowledge.
And best part... there IS a best part... it is obviously going to be much more affordable than drinking in Singapore. I love whisky, but I have to admit it's an expensive upkeep. You can finally let loose at Whisky House while knowing that it will be great quality whisky, huge variety of types for you to try / choose from, excellent ambience, and perfect value-for-money. The price point is especially reasonable. If you follow the Whisky Flights prices in Singapore, this is easily nearly half of the price you would have to fork out. For a new skill and a cool night out, I think it is well worth it.
Not everyone is into pure hard liquor, otherwise, you can go for the easier drinks... their winning signature cocktails! When it comes to cocktails, there aren't many good ones out there. It is so easy to make a 'decent' one, but hard to find out to really rave about. The boss of Whisky House was really welcoming and confident in his cocktails, so I took a first sip and OK. I understand it finally.
Their award-winning Strawberry Caipiroska cocktail is da bomb. You can say that it's a ladies' drink, but really, it's impossible for anyone not to enjoy this. The lime and crushed ice makes it wonderfully refreshing. On top of that, the tinge of sweetness from the strawberry puree and brown sugar provided a lot of dimensions to the flavours in this cocktail. This combination is certainly easy to please! What's more, this concoction has very perfectly measured proportions for all the different elements to create this sensational cocktail. If you're not sure about what to order, this will not go wrong.
The other cocktail was a drink that would is popular among the men, but I really like it too for it is a whisky base! The cinnamon is smoked to create a strong fragrant, sweet ground spice flavours in the whisky itself, while the lemon citrus rind added a sour tinge that always complements whisky so well.
Although they specialize in whiskies and in general, cocktails and drinks, Whisky House do have delicious mains and tapas bites here as well.
The Seafood Pesto (RM28.90) from Whisky House is such a hearty and indulging dish, it is almost like a big hug for your insides and keeping your stomach protected from the alcohol you're about to enjoy. Pro tip: carbs a good to 'absorb' alcohol! With fresh creamy pesto sauce mixed into the pasta dish, every mouthful is such a delight. Oysters and prawns create a more wholesome dish too!
Another recommended choice of main is the Lamb Cutlets & Chorizo Sausage (RM42.90), robust and full in its savoury, meaty flavour. Together with the springy chorizo sausage, this makes for such a satisfying main!
If you've had dinner elsewhere, but are still itching for some tapas, they do serve delicious pops in the mouth such as the Chicken Ham Bruschetta (RM18.90) and Prawns on Chorizo (RM19.90).
Sink into the cozy plush seats. The tables are far apart from one another so you can indulge in your late night conversations.
