If you're vaguely well verse in the Chinese language, you must have heard of the saying that the water faraway can't put out the fire nearby. Well, that's directly translated but it means that sometimes you have to rely on your neighbours for help in times of emergencies. How many times have I been trapped outside my door because I forgot my key? If I were friends with my neighbours, I can go knock on their door and ask for a cup of tea or something, but no... I can't, cos' I've never really talked to them before.
