This title is in all caps for one reason: Interstellar is Christopher Nolan's biggest magnum opus yet, supported by the greatest (or rather, my favourite) film music composer Hans Zimmer. Together, they are the ultimate dream team for movies! It's probably no secret that my favourite movie is Inception. This is the movie that comes a veryyyy close second... wait. I still can't decide. Stop hesitating about the complicated physics theories and just go for it. Stay if you need a little more push on why you should watch it (with minimal spoilers):

1. Everything explains itself seamlessly
I am in awe. I wanted to say I loved it, or I still love it, but it's more of I'm immensely impressed by the extent of Nolan's ingenuity when he thought about linking everything seamlessly together. Don't worry about abrupt, unexplained endings. Nolan's movies can be counted on for an extremely satisfying beautiful explanation for whatever he laid on the table.

2. Hans Zimmer & space travels
Besides the spectacular standards of Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer is the second top reason. During the film, my brain was going into overdrive of complimenting the magnificent music that complemented the space-travel scenes so much. It actually made the vast expanse of the galaxy endearing, and not scary at all. How's that?!

3. Just endless grace
I was thankful that there was no unexpected horror or gore that I didn't sign up for - not Nolan's style but you never know what you'll get in his movies. It was just infinite beauty that I just laid back, admired and smiled to myself.

4. Nolan is out to impress... and he does so well at it
I can't say more without spoiling it entirely, but I'll just say one last thing: it has a lot of innovative and unexpected elements. My brain went into overdrive (throughout the whole movie, actually) trying to guess what the hell was going on, but when the big reveal came... I didn't came close at all. In fact, just think how complicated Inception was - Interstellar upstaged it by a few dimensions. No kidding.

5. Too sentimental?
I kept hearing reviews that said Interstellar was too sentimental, too much emotions and focus on family life and not much on the plot itself... WHAT? NO. The emotional parts were very well-balanced, for me, it was absolutely necessary for the plot. Did they even watch the movie?

6. Scientific theories
Don't worry about not understanding it. You just need super basic physics to understand what they are doing and move on with the plot, but if you really want to appreciate it, you can be equipped with the mechanics by reading up on the space travel terminologies here. Note: I didn't read through this very carefully before I went, and now that I'm reading it closely - it's a bit of a spoiler if you want to be awed by the movie. So... I would say don't read it just yet. Please go and watch it. Bring all your high expectations (and full concentration) into the theatres with you, and you won't be disappointed!Never miss a post again!
