The Haymarket Place is a cafe located very close to the university, and being a combination of curious, bored, tired and cold, I stepped into the premises to give their coffee a try some time in between classes. Brought along Murakami's After The Quake for a quick read, which was an intriguing series of short stories all related to the Kobe earthquake in 1995.
Apparently the whole cafe only uses takeaway cups for coffees, which kind of ruffles my nerves because part of the experience of sitting down is drinking from porcelain cups. The mocha was pretty unmemorable and too foamy... basically, it wasn't to my liking. The only reason why I might go to the cafe again was for its location, but then again I realized the campus cafes are pretty good too so... I probably won't be recommending this cafe to anyone.
